Fiji Ocean Swim

As a measure of the developing relationship between The Big Swim and pacificswims.com, organisers of the Fiji and Vanuatu Ocean Swims, The Big Swim has inaugurated a trophy at the Fiji Ocean Swim to the first Fiji national home in that swim - The Big Swim Trophy.

The Big Swim also has inaugurated prizes to the fastest Male and Female Fiji swimmers to come to Sydney to take part in THE MACQUARIE BIG SWIM on January 27, 2008.

At right, Big Swim organiser Richard Stewart (2nd from left) presented the inaugural Big Swim prizes in Fiji in August, 2005, to (l-r) Luke McGrath, Lorraine Patterson and Sharon Pickering-Smith. Sharon, a former Fiji Olympic swimmer, won the Female Big Swim prize but, as Sharon now lives in Sydney, she passed it to Lorraine as the next Fiji female to finish.
